About the Sanitation Division
The Sanitation Division of the Del City Public Works Department services both residential and commercial accounts, providing essential waste management services. We manage:
- Bulk Trash Collection
- Roll-off dumpster rentals (20 or 30 yards).
- Extra polykart requests.
- Polykart repairs and replacements.
- Sanitation Collection
Sanitation Collection Days are completed by Ward:
- Ward 1 – Monday’s
- Ward 2 – Tuesday’s
- Ward 3 – Wednesday’s
- Ward 4 – Thursday’s
Bulk Trash collection is completed on weekly rotation by Ward:
- Ward 1 – 1st full week of the month
- Ward 2 – 2nd week of the month
- Ward 3 – 3rd week of the month
- Ward 4 – 4th week of the month

Residential Polykart Pickup Guidelines:
To ensure safe, efficient, and consistent service, please follow the guidelines below:
Proper Waste Placement
- All trash must be bagged and placed inside the polykart(s).
This includes household waste, grass clippings, and any other debris. - Loose materials are not permitted.
Polykart Usage
- Please fill one polykart completely before using a second cart.
Avoid placing only a few bags in multiple carts.
Lid Requirements
- Lids must be fully closed at the time of pickup.
- Do not place bags or debris that prevent the lid from closing properly.
Spacing & Placement
- Polykarts must be placed at least 4 feet apart from each other.
- Keep polykarts at least 5 feet away from:
- Vehicles
- Mailboxes
- Fences, utility poles, or other obstructions
No Overflow or Side Placement
- Bags or debris must not be placed on top of or beside polykarts.
- All waste must fit completely inside the cart with the lid closed.
Service Note
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in:
- Missed pickup
- Additional service charges for return trips
