About the Community Development Department
The Community Development Department is a vital part of our local government, responsible for overseeing the growth, improvement, and sustainability of our community’s infrastructure. This encompasses a variety of functions, including planning, project development, standard development, enforcement, and maintaining public records. The department manages public infrastructure such as streets, alleys, easements, and utilities, as well as private buildings and land use. Additionally, the Community Development Department acts as a liaison to numerous citizen commissions and committees, fostering engagement and collaboration within the community.

Licenses
2026 Citywide Garage Sale
No permit required and does not count toward the annual limit of four garage sales per resident.
September 24–27 | Rain or Shine
7:00 AM–5:00 PM daily
Guidelines:
-No street closures allowed
-No blocking of sidewalks or other public rights-of-way
-Sales must be on personally-owned property or must have landowner permission
-Sales in gated communities must meet HOA requirements
-Sales in apartment complexes must be approved by property manager
-No signs will be issued by the City
Homemade Signs Allowed:
-Dimensions: 11″H x 14″W maximum
-Sign (1) required at location of garage sale
-Signs must be a minimum of 12′ from the curb
-Signs must be removed by sunset on September 27th
