About Animal Control
Calls for Animal Control are dispatched through the Del City Police Department. All animals picked up by Animal Control are taken to the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Center located at SE 29 & Bryant, 1.5 miles east of I-35. The Animal Control division maintains live animal traps for use in capturing at-large animals that possibly constitute a nuisance. Citizens may check out these traps to aid in the capture of these problem animals.
Lost Pet?
COMING SOON! Microchip Scanning Stations. 🐾
If you find a lost pet, especially after local shelters have closed, you can use one of Del City’s microchip scanning stations (coming soon) at Fire Station 1 and 2 to check whether the pet has a registered microchip and help reunite it with its owner.
If the pet has a microchip but the owner cannot be reached right away, please keep the pet safe indoors in a secure space, such as a spare room, bathroom, or garage, until contact can be made. If you’re unable to provide temporary care, consider asking a trusted friend or family member to help.
If the pet is not microchipped, keep it safe while searching for its owner. Share the pet on local lost-and-found pet pages, neighborhood groups, and Nextdoor, and contact local animal rescues by searching “Animal Rescues in Oklahoma” online or on Facebook. Responses may take time, so please be patient and continue reaching out.
Whenever possible, consider temporary care or rescue assistance before taking the pet to a shelter. Thank you for helping keep lost pets safe while they find their way home.
