About the Public Works Department
The Public Works Department controls and coordinates the efforts of eight divisions who are proud to provide essential services to the residents of Del City. Water production and distribution as well as sewer collection and processing provide essential services to the city.
Hours of Operation
SUMMER OPERATING HOURS*
- Monday – Thursday: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
*(Public Works will begin its summer operating hours on Monday, July 27, 2026.)
REGULAR OPERATING HOURS**
- Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
**(Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Public Works will return to its regular operating hours, which are observed from Labor Day through Memorial Day.)
PLEASE NOTE: The Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plant, and Fleet Maintenance will continue to operate under their normal schedules and are not affected by this change.
