About the Office of Emergency Management

The Del City Office of Emergency Management is dedicated to minimizing the impact of natural and manmade disasters on our community. Collaborating with local, county, state and federal partners, we focus on preparing for, responding to, recovering from and mitigating disasters. We encourage residents to stay informed, have a safety plan and prepare a survival kit.

The Emergency Operations Center 

The Del City Emergency Operations Center (EOC), located at the Central Fire Station, serves as the city’s primary coordination hub during emergencies. Equipped with comprehensive radio communication systems, including:

  • OKWIN 800MHz
  • Oklahoma City 800MHz
  • Midwest City 800MHz
  • Tinker AFB Digital System
  • VHF
  • UHF
The Del City EOC has direct communication with the National Weather Service-Norman Forecast Office, enabling timely updates on Central Oklahoma’s weather conditions.

Outdoor Warning Systems (OWS)

The Del City Office of Emergency Management maintains 8 Outdoor Warning Sirens strategically located throughout the city to alert residents of hazardous conditions. These sirens are designed to warn those who are outdoors and are tested at noon on Saturdays, weather permitting.

Severe Weather Preparedness

To prepare for emergencies, residents should:
Have a “go bag” with essentials in case of an evacuation or power outage.

Register your storm shelter to ensure that rescue teams can efficiently find and provide aid to those who may be trapped or in need of assistance.
